Oat flakes are the richest source of calcium among the cereals. They contain high levels of magnesium and iron, especially when digested together with foods containing vitamin C, as the vitamin C enhances the absorption of iron in the body. Together with barley flakes, the oat flakes contain more soluble fibre than wheat or rye flakes. Of all the flakes, the oat flakes are the most popular breakfast muesli flakes. Their use is versatile, as they can also be added to soups, breads and pastries.


With milk or yoghurt for breakfast. They are excellent in patties, apple soufflé with oat flakes, biscuits, coalminer's cake or even for oat cake and chocolate balls with organic oat flakes.
